DECLARED DIVIDEND ANNOUNCEMENT ON STANDARD BANK GROUP LIMITED HOT ENHANCED
DIVIDEND SECURITIES – (“SBKIHF”)


With reference to the dividend announcement, the Directors of Standard Bank Group Limited declared an interim
dividend of 212.00 cents per ordinary share payable on Monday, 17 September 2012, to ordinary shareholders
and recorded in the books of the company at the close of business on Friday, 14 September 2012.

In terms of the new Dividend Tax effective 1 April 2012, the following additional information is disclosed:

1)   local dividend tax rate is 15%;
2)   No STC credits utilised;
3)   net local dividend amount 180.20 cents per share for shareholders liable to pay the new Dividends Tax and
     212.00 cents per share for shareholders exempt from paying the new Dividends Tax; and
4)   the issued share capital of Standard Bank Group Limited is 1,592,617,674 ordinary shares.

Accordingly, the holders of SBKIHF will receive a Standard Bank Group Limited distribution amount per security
on Monday, 17 September 2012, in terms of the Cession clause incorporated in the Supplement between the
holders and Investec Bank Limited. The last day to trade (“cum” the dividend) in order to participate in the
dividend will be Friday, 7 September 2012.

SBKIHF Hot Enhanced Dividend Securities will commence trading “ex” the dividend from the commencement of
business on Monday, 10 September 2012, and the record date will be Friday, 14 September 2012.
