LIQUIDATION OF AMU AND REQUEST FOR VOLUNTARY SUSPENSION OF TRADING

                               QUANTUM PROPERTY GROUP LIMITED
Incorporated in the Republic of South Africa
                                  (Registration number 1984/002788/06)
                                 Share code: QPG ISIN: ZAE000125647
                                        (“QPG” or “the Company”)

LIQUIDATION OF AMU AND REQUEST FOR VOLUNTARY SUSPENSION OF TRADING

Further to the cautionary announcement dated 25 May 2012, the subsequent renewal of cautionary
announcements, the last of which was dated 10 August 2012, the announcement regarding the application
for business rescue dated 13 June 2012 and the update thereto dated 15 June 2012, QPG wishes to inform
its shareholders that A Million Up Investments 105 Proprietary Limited (“AMU”) has been placed into final
liquidation and accordingly, the Company no longer has control over the majority of its assets and therefore
upon completion thereof QPG would not comply with the Listings Requirements of JSE Limited (“JSE”).

QPG is presently engaging with its legal advisers to assess the impact of the liquidation of AMU as well as
other significant facts which emerged, the implications and relevance of which will be detailed in a
subsequent update to shareholders.

As AMU has been placed into final liquidation, the board of directors (“Board”) believes that suspension of
trade in the Company’s securities is necessary and in the best interests of its shareholders at this point in
time.

A decision has therefore been taken by the Board to request the suspension of the listing of the Company’s
securities on the JSE with immediate effect.
