DECLARED DIVIDEND ANNOUNCEMENT ON IMPERIAL HOLDINGS LIMITED HOT ENHANCED DIVIDEND SECURITIES –
(“IPLIHD”)


With reference to the dividend announcement, the Directors of Imperial Holdings Limited have declared a
dividend of 380 cents per ordinary share payable on Monday, 1 October 2012, to ordinary shareholders and
recorded in the books of the company at the close of business on Friday, 28 September 2012.

In terms of the new Dividend Tax effective 1 April 2012, the following additional information is disclosed:

1)   local dividend tax rate is 15%;
2)   STC credits utilised is 1.76124 cents per share;
3)   net local dividend amount is 323.26419 cents per share for shareholders liable to pay the new Dividends Tax
     and 380 cents per share for shareholders exempt from paying the new Dividends Tax; and
4)   the issued share capital of Imperial Holdings Limited is 210,974,939 ordinary shares.

Accordingly, the holders of IPLIHD will receive an Imperial Holdings Limited dividend amount per security on
Monday, 1 October 2012, in terms of the Cession clause incorporated in the Supplement between the holders and
Investec Bank Limited. The last day to trade (“cum” the dividend) in order to participate in the dividend will be
Thursday, 20 September 2012.

IPLIHD Hot Enhanced Dividend Securities will commence trading “ex” the dividend from the commencement of
business on Friday, 21 September 2012, and the record date will be Friday, 28 September 2012.
