                              APPOINTMENT TO THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS



In compliance with paragraph 3.59 of the Listings Requirements of JSE Limited, the board of directors of
SecureData (“the Board”) hereby notifies its shareholders that Mr Miles Crisp has been appointed as Chief
Executive Officer of SecureData with effect from 1 August 2012.

Accordingly, Mr Johan du Toit, the Interim Chief Executive Officer and Financial Director of SecureData, will
no longer be required to fulfil the role of Interim Chief Executive Officer. Johan will continue to fulfil the role of
Financial Director.

Miles, who is a Chartered Accountant (SA), has extensive experience in the business environment and has,
notably, been very successful in building sustainable leadership teams. Miles, who is the interim Managing
Director of SecureData Africa, was previously Chief Executive of O’Keeffe & Swartz Consulting Proprietary
Limited, a member of the Deliotte & Touche South African Exco for five years and a founding partner of
Anderson Rochussen Crisp (Chartered Accountants (SA)).

The Board welcomes Miles and looks forward to his contribution to the Company.
