IMP - Impala Platinum Holdings Limited - Implats employees back at work Impala Platinum Holdings Limited (Incorporated in the Republic of South Africa) (Registration No. 1957/001979/06) ISIN: ZAE000083648 JSE Share Code: IMP LSE Share Code: IPLA ADR Code: IMPUY ("Implats") IMPLATS EMPLOYEES BACK AT WORK Implats is pleased to confirm that all employees who embarked on the unprotected strike this week, in support of colleagues who were arrested by the SA Police Services for alleged involvement in incidents of violence, have returned to work, starting with the night shift last night. Following a number of questions regarding the current membership of the two unions at the mine, Implats confirms that management has commissioned a process to verify claims by the Association of Mineworkers and Construction Union (AMCU) that they represent more than 10 000 of our employees. We are also in discussion with all the relevant stakeholders to persuade them to stop the unnecessary conflict through the establishment of a joint interim workers committee to discuss and regulate labour issues for the benefit of all the employees. We condemn the use of violence and intimidation and call on all the parties to do the same. Management will attempt to make up some of the lost production (6,000 platinum ounces) during the next six months through working extra production shifts. 24 May 2012 Johannesburg Sponsor Deutsche Securities (SA) (Proprietary) Limited Date: 24/05/2012 13:00:02 Supplied by www.sharenet.co.za Produced by the JSE SENS Department.
