POSTING OF CIRCULAR AND NOTICE OF GENERAL MEETING                               
Shareholders are advised that a circular, incorporating a notice of a           
general meeting to be held at the company`s offices, corner Engelbrecht and     
Lanham Streets, East Lynne, Pretoria at 10h00 on Thursday 7 July 2011, will     
be posted to them today.                                                        
The notice of meeting contains proposed resolutions relating to:                
-    the conversion of the company`s par value shares into no par value         
    shares;                                                                     
-    the proposed increase in the authorised no par value share capital of      
    the company;                                                                
-    the approval by shareholders of the issuing of up to 1 520 000 000         
    Alert no par value ordinary shares pursuant to the implementation of a      
proposed rights offer to shareholders; and                                  
-    the resultant amendments to the company`s Memorandum of Incorporation.
