CMP - Cipla Medpro South Africa - Results of RT12-2011 tender and IMS update CIPLA MEDPRO SOUTH AFRICA LIMITED (Incorporated in the Republic of South Africa) (Registration number 2002/018027/06) (ISIN Number: ZAE000128179 Share Code: CMP) ("Cipla Medpro" or "the Company") RESULTS OF RT12-2011 TENDER AND IMS UPDATE The Chief Executive Officer of Cipla Medpro, Mr Jerome Smith, is pleased to announce the following developments at Cipla Medpro. IMS Based on IMS data, Cipla Medpro has achieved the third position, by value, for the months of March and April 2011, thereby continuing on its goal to achieve the overall third position by the end of 2011. RT12-2011 TENDER - CIPLA AGRIMED Cipla Agrimed (Pty) Ltd ("Cipla Agrimed"), our animal health company which focuses on livestock production, was successful in winning a significant portion of the national tender RT12-2011 ("the Tender") in May this year. The Tender includes the supply of several animal health products to all nine provinces in South Africa. It is anticipated to run over a two year period and in total 12 items consisting of seven different products were allocated to Cipla Agrimed. Some of the products are amongst the highest volume products in the animal health Tender, which are used for the control of ectoparasites (control of ticks and sheep scab) in several of the provinces. Mr Smith was quoted as saying: "The estimated annual sales resulting from this Tender could be as much as R50 million per annum, and it is the first time that a new entrant has been able to secure a major share of this Tender which has been dominated by other players for the past decade." In addition, the Tender will also give Cipla Agrimed exposure to a much broader sector of the rural market in areas where traditionally the South African Government is still very involved and responsible for the control of diseases. These communities are switching over from small developing farmers to larger commercial farming enterprises, which should grow substantially in the future, giving Cipla Agrimed greater potential for growth of commercial sales in these areas.
