ART - Argent Industrial Limited - Trading statement Argent Industrial Limited (Incorporated in the Republic of South Africa) Registration number 1993/002054/06 ISIN: ZAE000019188 JSE Share code: ART TRADING STATEMENT In terms of the Listings Requirements of the JSE Limited, companies are required to publish a trading statement as soon as they are reasonably certain that the financial results for the current reporting period will differ by more than 20% from those of the previous corresponding period. Argent accordingly advises that it expects the Group`s headline earnings per share for the year ended 31 March 2010 to be between 85% and 95% lower compared to the previous corresponding period. This equates to a headline earnings per share of between 18.45 and 6.15 cents per share, compared to headline earnings of 123.0 cents per share for the previous corresponding period. Earnings per share for the year ended 31 March 2010 are estimated to be between 85% and 95% lower compared to the previous corresponding period. This equates to an earnings per share of between 18.95 and 6.32 cents per share, compared to earnings of 126.4 cents per share for the previous corresponding period. The Group has achieved improved earnings in the second half of 2010 compared with the first half despite the Christmas slowdown, which reinforces the continued improvement in profitability of the group since the dramatic fall in market conditions from September 2008. The above information has not been reviewed or reported on by the Group`s external auditors. It is anticipated that the results for the year ended 31 March 2010 are to be published on or about 22 June 2010 and the annual report to be posted before the 30 June 2010.
