TRADING UPDATE                                                                  
The directors are pleased to announce that the management accounts for the five 
months ended 31 May 2007 which are unaudited and have not been reviewed by the  
external auditors reflect an after tax profit of R138 million (May 2006 R64     
million) which translates into earnings per share of 146 cents and headline     
earnings of 145 cents per share. This information is available on the company`s 
Investor Relations website www.bellir.co.za  The directors will be publishing   
half year results to 30 June 2007 early in August 2007.
