Shareholders are advised that the annual financial statements of the group for  
the year ended 31 December 2006 will be posted to shareholders on 26 April 2007 
and contain no modifications to information previously published in the         
preliminary report issued to shareholders and the audited results which were    
published on 7 March 2007.  An online version of the annual report will be      
available on our website www.standardbank.co.za from close of business on       
Thursday 26 April 2007.                                                         
2. Notice of Annual General Meeting                                             
Notice is hereby given that the 38th Annual General Meeting of Standard Bank    
Group Shareholders will be held in the HP de Villiers Auditorium, Standard Bank 
Centre, 6 Simmonds Street, Johannesburg on Tuesday 29 May 2007 at 09:30 to      
transact the business stated in the notice of the Annual General Meeting, which 
was issued together with the annual report containing the annual financial      
statements of the group for the year ended 31 December 2006.
