CHANGES IN DIRECTORATE                                                          
Pursuant to the acquisition by ABF Overseas Limited, a wholly-owned subsidiary  
of Associated British Foods plc, of 51% of the fully diluted ordinary share     
capital of Illovo, and in compliance with paragraph 3.59 of the Listings        
Requirements of the JSE Limited, notice is hereby given of the following changes
to the board of directors of Illovo:                                            
Resignations                                                                    
Messrs N M Hawley, M I Hlatshwayo and A R Mpungwe resigned as directors on      
5 September 2006.                                                               
Appointments                                                                    
As nominated by ABF Overseas Limited, Dr M I Carr, and Messrs D R Langlands and 
P A Lister were appointed as non-executive directors with effect from           
5 September 2006.                                                               
Abbreviated curricula vitae of these appointees are given below -               
Dr Mark Carr (43) was appointed to his current role of Chief Executive of       
British Sugar plc (a wholly-owned subsidiary of Associated British Foods plc) in
April 2004.  Prior to that, he was Managing Director of Corus Strip Products,   
having joined the Corus Group (formerly British Steel) in 1986.  Dr Carr gained 
a Doctorate in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Wales and an MBA from
Warwick University.  He is a Chartered Engineer of the Institute of Mechanical  
Engineers and is also Chairman of the United Kingdom Sugar Bureau and a Director
of the World Sugar Research Organisation.                                       
Mr David Langlands (40) became Finance Director of British Sugar plc in June    
2003, having previously been Finance and Information Technology Director for    
ABNA, the agricultural division of Associated British Foods plc (ABF).  Mr      
Langlands joined the ABF group in 1994 and worked at KPMG Inc. for six years    
prior to that. He is a Chartered Accountant and has a Mathematics degree from   
the University of Manchester.                                                   
Mr Paul Lister (42) is currently Director of Legal Services and Company         
Secretary of Associated British Foods plc (ABF), having joined the ABF group in 
that role in January 2001.  He was formerly Associate General Counsel of Diageo 
plc.  Mr Lister holds a law degree from University College London and is a      
qualified solicitor in England & Wales.
