Cautionary announcement                                                         
Simmers shareholders are advised that the company is embarking on a process to  
raise capital through its subsidiary First Uranium (Proprietary) Limited in     
order to facilitate the development of its uranium and gold assets (the         
"Proposed Transaction"). As the first step in this process, Simmers has engaged 
RBC Capital Markets and Investec Bank Limited as its advisors.                  
If successfully concluded, the Proposed Transaction may have an effect on the   
price at which the company"s securities trade on the JSE Limited. Accordingly,  
Simmers shareholders are advised to exercise caution when dealing in their      
Simmers shares until a further announcement is made.
