SANLAM SENIOR EXECUTIVES BUY SANLAM SHARES
Some shares under the share scheme of a number of Sanlam"s senior executives
have become vested this year.
Sanlam"s Group chief executive, Dr Johan van Zyl, financial director Flip
Rademeyer, chief executive of finance, Kobus Moller, statutory actuary Chris
Swanepoel and Heinie Werth, an executive director of Sanlam Life have all
reinvested the total net cash proceeds from their respective transactions on 15
April in vested shares under Sanlam"s share scheme into new Sanlam shares.
Through this transaction Dr van Zyl acquired 192,642 Sanlam shares, Mr Rademeyer
198, 151 shares, Mr Moller 127, 396 shares Mr Swanepoel 151,161 shares and Mr
Werth 30,035 shares.
Other members of Sanlam"s Executive Committee, Ms Lize Lambrechts and Mr Nick
Christodoulou have realised the full proceeds from their respective transaction
in cash while company secretary Mr JP Bester retained parts of the proceeds from
his transaction in cash and reinvested the remaining portion in 30,000 Sanlam
shares.
In Sanlam"s endeavour to retain the services of its key executives in terms of
its retention policy, Sanlam"s Board decided to offer a proportionate number of
new share options at 980 cents per share to those executives who realised their
current vested shares. These new options will become fully exercisable over a
period of five years and must be exercised within eight years.
Because of the approaching expiry date thereof, two former executive directors
and current non-executive directors, Attie du Plessis and George Rudman, have
continued to sell portions of their share options that have become vested.
Details of the individual transactions and new offers to the senior executives
follow below.
Details of the Board"s regular annual share options offer to executives will be
