Interim ordinary dividend No. 139                                               
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that on 28 July 2003 the directors of AECI Limited       
declared an interim dividend of 42 cents per share, in respect of the financial 
year ending 31 December 2003, payable on Monday, 22 September 2003 to ordinary  
shareholders recorded in the books of the Company at the close of business on   
Friday, 19 September 2003.                                                      
The last day to trade cum dividend will be Friday, 12 September 2003 and shares 
will commence trading ex dividend as from Monday, 15 September 2003.            
Any change of address or dividend instruction must be received before Friday, 12
September 2003.                                                                 
Share certificates may not be dematerialised or rematerialised from Monday, 15  
September 2003 to Friday, 19 September 2003, both days inclusive.               
This announcement will be mailed to all recorded shareholders on or about       
Tuesday, 29 July 2003.
