Chairman`s Statement and Results of Annual General Meeting                      
The Chairman stated that, "Trading for the first quarter is ahead of last year  
and ahead of our expectations. The Company is expecting to report higher        
earnings in 2003."                                                              
Shareholders are advised that, at the annual general meeting of PPC shareholders
held on Monday, 27 January 2003, the ordinary and special resolutions required  
to approve, inter alia, the general authority for the Company or a subsidiary to
acquire PPC shares were passed by the requisite majority of PPC ordinary        
shareholders.                                                                   
The special resolution is in the process of being registered with the registrar 
of companies.
