RESIGNATION OF DIRECTOR                                                         
Reuel Khoza is a shareholder and chairman of Aka Capital which has acquired a   
stake in BoE Asset Management. Regretfully this has given rise to a conflict of 
interest and consequently we have accepted his resignation from the Standard    
Bank Group board with immediate effect.                                         
The chairman and board are highly appreciative of the valued contribution Reuel 
has made to the group since 1984.
