Wrap Text

Trans Hex Group Limited - News release Trans Hex Group Limited Trans Hex to defend DFI claim (Cape Town, 9th September 2002) Trans Hex will vigorously defend the action instituted in the Cape High Court by its Canadian-based joint-venture mining partner. The action by foreign-based Diamond Fields International (DFI) for US$19,5 million results from alleged repudiation of the joint-venture agreement by Trans Hex. Trans Hex believes the claim is without merit and denies having repudiated the joint-venture agreement as suggested by DFI. Trans Hex furthermore disputes that it is in breach of its obligation regarding DFI`s alleged option to purchase the mining vessel Mv Namakwa and intends to counterclaim. Over the past seven months numerous attempts by Trans Hex to amicably resolve differences within the joint venture have been to no avail. With legal action now having been instituted the matter is sub judice and therefore Trans Hex management is not in a position to comment further on details of the case. Ends.
