CHANGES TO BOARD OF DIRECTORS                                                   
Mr P J (John) Blackbeard, currently Managing Director of PPC Cement (Pty)       
Limited,  has been appointed Chief Operating Officer of Pretoria Portland Cement
Company Limited with effect from 1 August 2002.                                 
He will now assume responsibility for all the day to day operations of the PPC  
Group.  He will continue to report to John Gomersall, CEO of PPC who will be    
spending more time on Barloworld Limited matters.                               
Paul Stuiver, currently an Executive Director of Pretoria Portland Cement       
Company Limited, will resign from the PPC Board with effect from 1 August 2002, 
to focus solely on the running of Barloworld Logistics (Pty) Limited.
