SANLAM LTD: NEWS RELEASE: SENIOR APPOINTMENTS

Sanlam Ltd today announced the appointment of Ms Lize Lambrechts as Chief
Executive: Associated Businesses and Shared Services of Sanlam Ltd. Mr Attie
du Plessis previously held these responsibilities until his appointment as
non-executive director on Sanlam's Board from 1 March this year.

Ms Lambrechts, an actuary and former executive director of Sanlam Life
responsible for Client Care, becomes the first woman on the executive
committee of Sanlam Ltd. She has extensive experience in all facets of the
life business since she started her career at Sanlam in 1986.

Sanlam Life announced that it would not appoint anyone in the vacancy. The
functions of Client Care and IT in Sanlam Life are being combined into a
single portfolio that will be managed by Mr Kobus M ller, formerly

responsible for Finance in Sanlam Life. Mr. Heinie Werth, who was

responsible for IT, takes over the responsibility for Finance in Sanlam
Life.
