RESULTS OF CAPITALISATION SHARE AWARD AND RIGHT OF ELECTION TO RECEIVE THE
FINAL CASH DIVIDEND OF 20.0 CENTS PER SHARE IN LIEU THEREOF

HSBC Investment Services (Africa) (Pty) Limited is authorised to announce
that the right of shareholders registered at the close of business on
Friday, 12 April 2002 to elect to receive the final cash dividend of 20.0
cents per ordinary share instead of the award of capitalisation shares of
5,26316 for every 100 existing shares held ("the new ordinary shares"),
closed on Wednesday, 10 April 2002.

Elections to receive the final cash dividend of 20.0 cents per ordinary
share were made in respect of 26 586 435 ordinary shares resulting in a
total dividend payment of R5 317 287.00.  Accordingly, 2 964 661 new

ordinary shares out of a possible 4 363 896 new ordinary shares are to be
issued pursuant to the capitalisation share award, being a 68% acceptance of
such award. Following the issue of the new ordinary shares, the issued
ordinary share capital of Micromega will consist of 85 878 678 ordinary
shares of 1 cent each.
Listing of new ordinary shares

The listing of 2 964 661 new ordinary shares in Micromega will commence on
the JSE Securities Exchange South Africa with effect from the commencement
of business on Wednesday, 17 April 2002.
Share certificates and cheques

Where relevant, safe custody accounts with the Central Securities Depository
Participant or broker were credited with the entitlement or share

certificates in respect of the new ordinary shares and / or payments were
issued or made on Monday, 15 April 2002.
