Final ordinary dividend No. 136

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that on 25 February 2002 the directors of AECI
Limited declared a final dividend of 55 cents per ordinary share for the
financial year ended 31 December 2001, payable on Monday, 22 April 2002 to
ordinary shareholders registered in the books of the Company at the close of
business on Friday, 19 April 2002.

The last day to trade cum dividend will be Friday, 12 April 2002 and shares
will commence trading ex dividend as from Monday, 15 April 2002.

Any change of address or dividend instruction must be received before
Friday, 12 April 2002.

Share certificates may not be dematerialised from Monday, 8 April 2002 to
Friday, 19 April 2002, both days inclusive.

This announcement will be mailed to all registered holders on or about 25
February 2002.
