CERRO MATOSO LITIGATION UPDATE
South32 Limited (ASX, LSE, JSE: S32; ADR: SOUHY) (South32) advises that on 9 April 2018 our
Cerro Matoso operation accepted notification of the decision handed down by the Constitutional
Court of Colombia in relation to alleged health and environmental impacts on the community
surrounding our Cerro Matoso operation. We are in the process of appealing the decision.
At this stage it is not possible to fully assess any potential financial or operational impacts, as the
decision orders various compensatory and remedial activities which are not yet quantifiable. Our
work is continuing to understand the impact of the decision and we will advise of any material
developments.
