CHANGE IN LEADERSHIP POSITIONS AT UMGENI WATER

The Board wishes to inform the investors of Umgeni Water of the changes in the leadership position
in Umgeni Water.

As you are aware, the Board has oversight leadership on water supply challenges to Umgeni Water’s
key customer, eThekwini Municipality.

The Board at its special meeting held on Saturday, 27 November 2021, resolved to relieve Mr Dube
from his duties as the Acting Chief Executive effective from [27] November 2021 to enable him to
focus on strengthening the Operations team and to focus on bringing stability to water delivery,
imperative to our key customer eThekwini Municipality.

The Board further resolved to appoint Mr Mboniseni Dlamini as Acting Chief Executive for Umgeni
Water until further notice as Mr Dube returns to the helm of the Operations Division. Mr Dlamini is
no stranger to Umgeni Water, he currently serves as Msinsi Holdings Managing Director and has held
various leadership positions in the water sector, having been Umgeni Water’s General Manager for
Operations and later Magalies Water Chief Executive.

Mr Dlamini has agreed to assume his responsibilities as the Acting Chief Executive of Umgeni Water
effective from 30 November 2021 until the Board pronounces otherwise. Umgeni Water has no doubt
that this prudent decision by the Board is in the best interest of Umgeni Water.
