Rating Agency: Moody’s Investors Service, Inc. (‘Moody’s’)


Moody’s upgrades Anglo American plc (‘AA plc’) ratings to Baa2
from Baa3 and changed the outlook to stable from positive.


In accordance with paragraph 7.46 of the JSE Debt Listings
Requirements, noteholders are advised that Moody’s has upgraded
the senior unsecured ratings of AA plc and its subsidiaries to
Baa2 from Baa3. Moody’s has also upgraded the short term rating
to P-2 from P-3. Concurrently, Moody’s upgraded the Company’s
national scale rating (‘NSR’) to Aaa.za from Aa1.za. The outlook
on all the ratings has been changed to stable from positive. AA
plc is the Guarantor under Anglo American SA Finance Ltd’s
ZAR20bn DMTN Programme.
