MEDIA STATEMENT

MARKET MAKING OBLIGATIONS BY PRIMARY DEALERS IN REPUBLIC OF
SOUTH AFRICA GOVERNMENT BONDS DURING DECEMBER 2019 TO JANUARY
2020



National Treasury would like to announce that from the 17 December 2019- 03 January
2020, primary dealers are only obliged to quote;

 -   A two-way price on Republic of South Africa (RSA) government bonds from
     08H00 to 12H00 on the Over the Counter (OTC) market; and
 -   A two-way price in the obligatory bonds, the R2023, R186, R2032, R209 and R2048
     on the Electronic Trading Platform (ETP) for 2 hours between 08h30 and 12h00. ETP
     trading is closed on 24 and 31 December 2019.
