DISCLOSURE OF ACQUISITION OF BENEFICIAL INTERESTS IN SECURITIES IN MTN GROUP

MTN Group received a notification of disclosure from Coronation Asset Management (Pty) Ltd advising
that it has acquired a beneficial interest in the securities of MTN Group, such that the total of all beneficial
interests held by Coronation Asset Management (Pty) Ltd (on behalf of their underlying clients) was 4.95%
and is now 5.06% of the issued ordinary share capital of MTN Group. This disclosure is in terms of section
122 of the Companies Act 71 of 2008, as amended and Regulation 121 of the Companies Regulations,
2011 and paragraph 3.83(b) of the JSE Limited Listings Requirements.

The Board of directors of MTN Group accepts responsibility for the information contained in the
announcement, having received the forms TRP121.1 from Coronation Asset Management (Pty) Ltd, and
to the best of their respective knowledge believe the information contained in the announcement is
accordingly true and to the best of their knowledge does not omit anything likely to affect the importance
of the information contained in this announcement.
