APPOINTMENT OF uMngeni-uThukela WATER BOARD - (2023-2027).


In compliance with the Debt Listings Requirements of JSE Limited, stakeholders are advised that uMngeni-UThukela
Water has received confirmation that the Honourable Senzo Mchunu, MP, as Executive Authority responsible for the
Water and Sanitation portfolio, has finalised the appointment of the board of uMngeni-uThukela Water, which was
endorsed by the cabinet on 13 September 2023. This decision is in strict compliance with due process as dictated by
Schedule 1 to the Water Services Act, No 108 of 1997 (the “Act”), read with Section 35 of the Act. The appointment of
board members of all water boards is a legislative prerogative of the Minister of Water and Sanitation.


Stakeholders are advised that the Honourable Minister retained three (3) of the outgoing interim board members in
order to ensure a smooth transition as well as continuity from the wealth of knowledge and experience attained while
serving the entity. The new board members will complement the vast knowledge and experience of those retained, and
collectively, their impressive track record will contribute to successfully directing the future sustainability of uMngeni-
uThukela Water. The wide range of expertise that the appointed board members bring to the board includes
engineering, finance, legal, science, environment, management, and ICT.


The Honourable Minister Senzo Mchunu confirmed the appointment of the following board members for uMngeni-
uThukela Water effective from 01 October 2023 to 30 September 2027:
