AVAILABILITY OF B-BBEE ANNUAL COMPLIANCE REPORT – MTN GROUP AND SUBSIDIARIES

In accordance with paragraph 16.21(g) and Appendix 1 to Section 11 of the JSE Listings Requirements and
Section 13G(2) of the Broad Based Black Economic Empowerment (B-BBEE) Act, shareholders are advised
that the Company’s B-BBEE compliance certificate and report is available on the Company’s website at
www.mtn.com.

The B-BBEE Contributor Status for MTN Group considers both the South African operating entities as well
as the South African group function. A Level 1 B-BBEE Contributor Status was achieved.
