Appointment of Executive Vice President

In accordance with paragraph 6.39 of the Debt Listing Requirements, the board of directors of Bank
of China Limited (“the Bank”), being the Parent company of BOC Johannesburg Branch, advises that
Mr Huaiyu Chen, Acting Chief Executive Officer of BOC Johannesburg Branch, has been appointed as
Executive Vice President of the Bank with effect from 19 April 2021.

The aforementioned appointment has been approved by the China Banking and Insurance Regulatory
Commission.
