APPOINTMENT OF THE INTERIM BOARD OF UMGENI WATER


In accordance with paragraph 6.39 of the Debt Listings Requirements of the JSE Limited, stakeholders are
advised that on the 08th of March 2023, Umgeni Water received correspondence to the effect that the
Honourable Minister Senzo Mchunu, as Executive Authority responsible for the Water and Sanitation
portfolio, has decided to disband the current Board of Umgeni Water. This decision is a prerogative of the
Minister in terms of section 35 of the Water Services Act No. 108 of 1997 (the Act).


In the interim and effective 9 March 2023, the Minister has appointed seven (7) members of the Interim Board
until such time as a new Board is appointed in terms of section 35 of the Act. The Interim Board is constituted
as follows:
