TRANSNET APPOINTS A GROUP TREASURER


Transnet has appointed Mr Andre Pillay as its Group Treasurer and he will commence with his duties
with effect from 1 May 2022.

Mr Pillay is a versatile and results-orientated professional with extensive business and financial acumen
obtained during a highly successful career of 25 years. He possesses a proven track record in
managing the largest corporate treasury in South Africa presiding over a debt and derivative portfolio in
excess R500 billion. He has led and executed a funding plan of approximately R300 billion and
successfully negotiated and secured multi-billion-dollar agreements with major banks and companies
both domestically and internationally.

During his career he worked at the National Treasury as Chief Director: Liability Management , Head of
Reserves Management at the South African Reserve Bank, Treasurer of Eskom and most recently
Treasurer at Telkom.

Transnet is looking forward to Mr Pillay’s contribution in the execution of its strategy.
