JOHN DANIEL HOLDINGS LIMITED
Incorporated in the Republic of South Africa
Registration number: 1998/013215/06
JSE Code: JDH - ISIN: ZAE000136677
("the Company" or "JDH" or "the Group")

FINALISATION ANNOUNCEMENT AND SALIENT DATES IN RELATION TO CHANGE OF NAME TO ECSPONENT LIMITED

As previously advised, as the Annual General Meeting held on 31 July 2013, JDH shareholders approved the
change in name of the company to Escalator Investment Holdings Limited. The special resolutions were
subsequently lodged with the Companies and Intellectual Property Commission (“CIPC”) for registration.

In the intervening period, the controlling shareholder of JDH received an objection to the use of the name “Escalator”
from a large corporate entity and JDH, in consultation with its controlling shareholder, elected to not proceed with
the change in name to Escalator Investment Holdings Limited and lodged an affidavit with CIPC to halt the name
change process. Unfortunately, CIPC proceeded with the change in name of the company to Escalator Investment
Holdings Limited and JDH was notified of this change in January 2014.

As opposed to pursuing any legal route and in consultation with the Johannesburg Stock Exchange (“JSE”), the
company has elected to proceed with a special resolution by way of a Section 60 shareholder round robin resolution
process and has secured more than the required 75% vote in order to approve the change in name of the company
to Ecsponent Limited. The name change is being done in conjunction with the renaming and rebranding of the
entire Escalator group of companies to Ecsponent.

The special resolution has now been processed by CIPC in order to change the name at CIPC from “Escalator
Investments Holdings Limited” to “Ecsponent Limited”.

In accordance with the JSE Listings Requirements, for a period of not less than one year, JDH will reflect the former
name “John Daniel Holdings Limited” on all documents of title in brackets beneath the new name of “Ecsponent
Limited”.

In terms of the Listings Requirements, approval has been granted by the JSE for the change of name and for the
abbreviated name “Ecsponent” to be used with the share code “ECS” and the ISIN ZAE000179594.
