APPOINTMENT OF GENERAL MANAGER OF THE LANGPAN MINING CO PROPRIETARY
LIMITED OPERATIONS


The board of directors of MTU (“the Board”) is pleased to announce that Jacques Pretorius has, with
effect from 1 June 2023, been appointed as the General Manager of Langpan Mining Co Proprietary
Limited (“Langpan”) in terms of section 3(1) of the Mine Health and Safety Act, 1996 (Act 29 of 1996)
(“MHSA”). He will serve as custodian of the Langpan Chrome Operations (“Chrome Operations”).

Jacques is a seasoned and highly accomplished executive, with over three decades of experience in
mining operations and mining projects. Jacques holds an impressive record of successfully driving major
mining projects, mine startups, mine restructures and mining operations, including processing operations.
Jacques’ most recent accomplishments include:

•   2017 to 2023: Successfully reopening Northam Platinum Holdings Limited’s (“Northam”) Eland
    Platinum Mine (“Eland”), including the processing operations, changing the mining method and
    successfully starting conventional stoping.

•   2022: Achieving one million Fatality free shifts at Eland, the first for the mine following its acquisition
    by Northam in February 2017.

The Board would like to take this opportunity to wish Jacques all of the very best and looks forward to his
contribution to the Langpan Chrome Operations.
