Amendments to Procurement Policy

Cape, pursuant to Section 12(1) and Section 14(2) of the Local Government: Municipal Structures Act,
1998 (Act 117 of 1998) as amended)

Amendments To Procurement Policy

CCT has undertaken various amendments to its procurement policy which forms part of the
Municipality’s supply chain management policy relating to:

•   alignment to the new Preferential Procurement Regulations, 2022;
•   language, grammar and formatting alignment and revision;
•   strengthening of controls and enhancement of current abuse clauses;
•   removal of procedural matters including alignment with the definition of irregular expenditure as
    per the Municipal Finance Management Act (Act 56 of 2003); and
•   alignment of terminology to new framework agreements and panel tenders guideline.
