Further cautionary announcement in respect of purchase of shares in Alert Steel by 
Cannistraro from Capital Africa Steel and further cautionary announcement 



Shareholders are referred to the further cautionary announcement dated 26 March 2013 
which, inter alia, referred to the purchase (the CAS Transaction) by Cannistraro 
Investments 282 (Pty) Ltd (Cannistraro) of 47.5% of Alert Steels shares in issue 
from Capital Africa Steel (Pty) Limited (CAS). 

The CAS Transaction was subject to two conditions precedent being fulfilled, inter 
alia approval of the CAS Transaction by the competition authorities within 45 days 
of 8 February 2013.

Cannistaro and CAS have today entered into an agreement to extend the date of fulfilment 
to 75 calendar days of 8 February 2013. To the extent that the CAS Transaction may have 
lapsed by reason of the non-timeous fulfilment of the suspensive condition, the CAS 
Transaction was reinstated on all of its terms and conditions, subject to the amendment 
in respect of the date of fulfilment.

Shareholders are advised to continue exercising caution when dealing in the Companys 
securities until further announcements have been made.
