Rating Agency: Standard and Poor’s Ratings Services (‘S&P’)
S&P downgrades Anglo American plc (‘AA plc’) ratings to BB from
BBB-.
In accordance with paragraph 4.26 of the JSE Debt Listings
Requirements, noteholders are advised that S&P has downgraded
the senior unsecured ratings of AA plc and its subsidiaries to
BB from BBB- and its short term ratings to B from A-3.
Concurrently, S&P downgraded the company’s national scale rating
(‘NSR’) to zaBBB+ from zaAA- and downgraded the short term NSR
to zaA-2 from zaA-1. AA plc is the Guarantor under Anglo
American SA Finance Ltd’s R20bn DMTN Programme.
