RAND WATER
Rand Water is established in terms of the Water Services Act of 1997 (the "Act"). Through the Department of
Water and Sanitation and duly represented by the Minister of Water and Sanitation, the Government of the
Republic of South Africa is the sole shareholder of Rand Water. In terms of the Act, Rand Water's primary
activity is the provision of bulk water supply services (potable bulk water and sanitation services) within the
predetermined service area.

Change to the board
Rand Water hereby notifies its debt investors that following the resignation of Dr Nomusa Zethu Qunta, as
announced on SENS on 8 April 2024, the Minister of Water and Sanitation (the "Minister") has appointed Ms
Phindile Mbanjwa to the board of directors of Rand Water, effective 11 June 2024 to 21 September 2026.
The Minister concludes the decision to appoint/nominate board members in terms of Section 28(1) of the Water
Services Act, No. 108 of 1997 (the "Water Services Act"), which empowers the Minister to establish a Water
Board and to appoint members of the Water Board. In addition, Schedule 1 of the Water Services Act regulates
the terms of office of board members, the procedure for recommending persons for appointment as chairperson
or board members, and the termination of office of Board members.
