DECLARED DIVIDEND ANNOUNCEMENT ON BHP BILLITON PLC HOT ENHANCED DIVIDEND SECURITIES
– (“BILIHK”)


With reference to the dividend announcement, the Directors of BHP Billiton plc have declared an interim dividend
of 59 US cents per ordinary share payable on Wednesday, 26 March 2014 to ordinary shareholders, recorded in
the books of the company at the close of business on Friday, 7 March 2014.

The currency exchange rate applicable for the dividend will be announced on the last day to trade Friday, 28
February 2014.

Accordingly, the holders of BILIHK, will receive a BHP Billiton plc dividend amount per security on Wednesday, 26
March 2014 in terms of the Cession clause incorporated in the Supplement between the holders and Investec
Bank Limited. The last day to trade (“cum” the dividend) in order to participate in the dividend will be Friday, 28
February 2014.

BILIHK Hot Enhanced Dividend Securities will commence trading “ex” the dividend from the commencement of
business on Monday, 3 March 2014, and the record date will be Friday, 7 March 2014.
