APPOINTMENT OF INDEPENDENT NON-EXECUTIVE DIRECTORS

In terms of paragraphs 3.59 and 6.39 of the Listings Requirements and the Debt Listings
Requirements of the JSE Limited, respectively, shareholders and noteholders are herewith advised
that Nombulelo (Pinky) Moholi, Caroline Da Silva, Mmaboshadi (Shadi) Chauke and Deborah
(Debbie) Loxton have been appointed as independent non-executive directors of the Company with
effect from 3 June 2021, to fill vacancies on the board and to enhance the overall skill set of the
board.

Ms Moholi graduated with an engineering degree and has more than 30 years’ experience in multiple
industry sectors such as Technology, Finance and Insurance, Mining and Retail. She currently
serves as a non-executive director on the boards of Engen, Woolworths Holdings and Anglo
American Platinum.

Ms Da Silva holds, inter alia, a Bachelor of Arts degree and has more than 30 years’ experience in
the Insurance industry and served in various executive roles at the Financial Services Board and
Financial Sector Conduct Authority between August 2013 and October 2020.

Ms Chauke is a Chartered Accountant with more than 15 years’ post qualifying experience in the
external audit and financial services sectors. She is a former registered auditor, having served 5
years as an Audit Partner at Deloitte & Touche South Africa until February 2018. She currently serves
as an independent non-executive director on the boards of Mr Price Group, Afrocentric Investment
Corporation, The Small Enterprise Foundation and Mamor Capital.

Ms Loxton is a Chartered Accountant with more than 15 years’ experience in the insurance industry.
She has held executive roles and non-executive board positions at various financial services
companies and was previously a partner at Pricewaterhouse Coopers Inc.

The board welcomes the new directors to Santam and looks forward to their contribution towards
assisting the Company in achieving its objectives. The appointments of the directors were made in
accordance with Santam’s policy for the selection and appointment of directors.
