Sanlam and Sanlam Life Insurance Limited – Changes to Board of Directors

In terms of paragraph 6.39 of the Debt Listings Requirements of the JSE Limited, noteholders are
herewith advised of the following change to the boards of directors (“the Boards”) of Sanlam and
Sanlam Life Insurance Limited.

Ms Thembisa Skweyiya has been appointed as an Independent Non-Executive director to the
Boards of Sanlam and Sanlam Life Insurance Limited, effective 18 October 2022. Her appointment
has been approved by the Prudential Authority in terms of the Insurance Act No 18 of 2017.

Thembisa is an accomplished businesswoman with executive and non-executive director
experience on the boards of listed and unlisted entities. Her broad experience spans across a
number of business sectors and various fields, including mergers and acquisitions, private equity,
development finance, empowerment transactions and structured corporate finance. Thembisa is
a former Investment Banker, having occupied roles at Citigroup in Johannesburg and Nedbank
Capital. She started her career in the legal profession with White & Case in New York and later
moved to their Johannesburg office. Thembisa has been educated in South Africa (UKZN and Wits)
and USA (Harvard), holds a B.Proc, LLB LLM degrees, an H.Dip Tax and was admitted to the New
York State Bar in 1998.

Thembisa’s appointment as Independent Non-Executive Director to the Sanlam Boards was
unanimously supported and subsequently recommended for approval by the Sanlam Boards to
the Prudential Authority. On behalf of the Sanlam Boards, the Chairman, Elias Masilela, welcomes
Thembisa and looks forward to her contributions.

Noteholders are also advised that Ms Jeanett Modise has tendered her resignation as Executive
Director as well as Group Human Capital Director of the Company with effect from 30 September
2022.

The board wishes to thank Ms Modise for her service to the Company.
