Changes to the Board                                                            
Notification is hereby given in accordance with paragraph 3.59(b) of the JSE    
Limited Listings Requirements that Messrs AS du Plessis and GE Rudman have      
retired by rotation as non-executive directors from the Boards of Sanlam        
Limited and Sanlam Life Insurance Limited with effect from 08 June 2011. They   
have informed the Sanlam Board that they will not be available for re-          
election and the Board has accepted their request and decided to close these    
two vacant board positions. The Sanlam Board wishes to thank Messrs. Du         
Plessis and Rudman for their contributions to the Group since their             
appointments to the Sanlam Board.  We bid them well in all their future         
endeavours.
