APPOINTMENT OF GROUP CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER
The City is pleased to announce that Mr Tebogo Moraka has been appointed as the City’s group chief
financial officer (“CFO”) with effect from 1 July 2023, after previously holding the position of acting group
CFO for the City.
Mr Moraka is a qualified Chartered Accountant (South Africa) and, prior to joining the public sector, he
was an audit manager at Deloitte and Touché. After joining the public sector, Mr Moraka held the
position of head of finance of the Group Information and Communications Technology and Information
Management (“GICT & IM”) department of the City for a period of 6 years and was thereafter appointed
as the City’s acting group executive director of the GICT & IM department.
Mr Moraka brings a wealth of knowledge and experience and his expertise in accountancy, business
processes, risk management and auditing will strengthen the City’s team.
The City congratulates Mr Moraka on his appointment and looks forward to the valuable contribution
Mr Moraka will bring to the City’s executive management team.
