Update to Index Sponsor and Calculation Agent
Société Generale announced that they have finalized the acquisition of the Commerzbank’s Equity Markets and
Commodities’ (EMC) business with the integration of the exchange-traded investment solutions.
The EMC business includesthe activities of ETF market-making, which consists of ensuring the market liquidity for ETF
issuers and of executing orders for institutional clients, as well as the listed investment products offered to
sophisticated retail investors, such as warrants and certificates.
Included in this acquisition is the business that is responsible for maintaining the Commerzbank Global Equity Risk
Premia 15%RC ER Index (Bloomberg Ticker: CBKIRPGL Index ; Reuters RIC: CBKIRPGLIDX). This index will now be
maintained by Societe Generale with no changes to the rulebook and the calculations which remain unchanged. The
index has been renamed SGI Global Equity Risk Premia 15% Risk Control Excess Return Index (Bloomberg Code:
SGKMRPGL). The index calculating agent will be Solactive, which is an approved agent on the JSE list of index of
calculating agents. The rates used in the index have been updated during the novation to comply with the latest IBOR
transition. LIBOR has been replaced by SOFR and EURIBOR by ESTRON. The change came into effect on 06 May 2022.
Absa has updated the Applicable Pricing Supplements listed below, to reflect the updated details of the SGI Global
Equity Risk Premia 15% Risk Control Excess Return Index (Bloomberg Ticker: SGKMRPGL) and rule methodology with an
effective date of 16 May 2022 The underlying basket indices remain unchanged.
