2022 Interim Dividend

On 15 February 2022, the Board of BHP determined to pay an interim dividend of 150 US cents per
share for the half year ended 31 December 2021.
The currency exchange rate applicable for the dividend payable in South African cents to shareholders
on the BHP Group Limited South African branch register is based on the average rate over a two day
period commencing on 17 February 2022 and ending on 18 February 2022 and is set out below:

The exchange rates applicable to the BHP dividend being paid in other currencies will be based on the
foreign currency exchange rates on a single day or an average for a period of days ending on or
before the dividend Record Date, being 25 February 2022. The applicable foreign currency exchange
rates will be announced to the market on the Dividend Reinvestment Election Date, being 28 February
2022.
BHP Group Limited shareholders registered on the South African branch register will not be able to
dematerialise or rematerialise their shareholdings between the dates of 23 February 2022 and 25 February
2022, both dates inclusive, nor will transfers between the Australian register and the South African branch
register be permitted between the dates of 18 February 2022 and 25 February 2022, both dates inclusive.
The dividend will be paid on 28 March 2022.

NOTE: Additional information required by the JSE Listing Requirements
1. The dividend should be regarded as a 'foreign dividend' for the purposes of South
African income tax and South African dividends tax (Dividend Tax).
2. Dividend Tax will be withheld from the amount of the gross interim dividend paid to
shareholders on the South African branch register at the rate of 20 per cent, unless a
shareholder qualifies for an exemption.
3. After the Dividend Tax has been withheld, the net dividend will be 1,796.70600 South African
cents per ordinary share.
4. BHP Group Limited had a total of 5,062,323,190 ordinary shares in issue at the dividend
determination date of 15 February 2022.
5. The dividend will be paid out of retained earnings.
6. For the avoidance of doubt, Dividend Tax, and therefore the information provided in this
announcement, is only of direct application to shareholders on the BHP Group Limited South
African branch register.
