Appointment of Interim Group Chief Executive Officer

The Denel Board of Directors has appointed Michael Kgobe (Mike), current Divisional Chief
Executive of Denel Aeronautics, as interim Group Chief Executive Officer (GCEO) of Denel
effective today, 1 September 2022. This is subsequent to Mr William Hlakoane’s contract
coming to an end as interim GCEO on 31 August 2022.

Mr Kgobe has an aeronautical engineering background and has been with the Company since
May 2000 growing up the management ranks and was appointed Chief Executive of Denel
Aviation, the precursor to Denel Aeronautics, in 2010. Mr Kgobe has previously acted in the
position as GCEO in 2018.

The Board wishes to take this opportunity to thank William Hlakoane for his period as interim
GCEO since February 2021 and look forward to his continued contribution as Group Chief
Operating Officer, supporting Mike and the Group Executive Committee together with the CRO
in the implementation of the turnaround plan.

The process of recruiting the new GCEO is underway and a further announcement will be
made once the Board is in a position to announce the appointment of a permanent GCEO.
