NOTIFICATION OF AMENDMENTS TO THE APPLICABLE PRICING SUPPLEMENT OF THE
FRS239 NOTES

In accordance with condition 22.1 of the terms and conditions of the ZAR 30 000 000 000 Note
Programme, dated 29 November 2011 and as amended from time to time (the programme) and
paragraph 6.56(a) of the Debt Listings Requirements, FRB hereby notifies noteholders of the FRS239
notes that it has amended and restated the applicable pricing supplement of the FRS239 notes (the
amended aps), issued under the programme, to give effect to amendments as a result of a manifest
error.

The FRS239 applicable pricing supplement has been amended as follows:
  (i)   adding the words “amended and restated” prior to the words “applicable pricing supplement”
        throughout the amended aps;
  (ii)  movement of the brackets in the formula contained in line item 34 of the amended aps; and
  (iii) amending the name of the index to the “MSCI World USD Price Index” and the applicable
        Bloomberg code in line items 34 and 47(a) of the amended aps.

The amendments outlined above were required as the original applicable pricing supplement did not
match what was agreed in the initial trade due to an error when drafting the applicable pricing
supplement.

The amended aps is available for inspection at the registered office of FRB and will be made available
for inspection on the FRB website, https://www.firstrand.co.za/investors/debt-investor-centre/jse-listed-
instruments/.

The amended aps will also be available for inspection on the JSE’s website, www.jse.co.za.
