Aberdare Cables: Investigation by Competition Commission                        
Shareholders are advised that today, 6 May 2010, the Competition Commission     
launched an investigation into certain alleged prohibited practices in the      
power cable market against Aberdare Cables (Pty) Limited (Aberdare Cables) and  
three other competitors.                                                        
Both Power Technologies (Pty) Limited and Aberdare Cables` management are       
co-operating fully with the authorities and have taken the allegations made by  
the Competition Commission against Aberdare Cables on advisement with their     
external legal advisors.                                                        
Further communication to shareholders will be made once certain investigations  
have been completed.
