relating to the re-classification of inward listings

We refer to the SENS announcement published on 05 November 2020
(“5 November SENS”) which was published pursuant to the Exchange
Control Circular No.15/2020 dated 29 October 2020 (“Circular”).
The National Treasury, the South African Reserve Bank and the
Financial Sector Conduct Authority issued a media statement on
24 November 2020 advising that the Circular is suspended with
immediate effect. As a result, all approvals granted on the
basis of Circular are also suspended and the dispensation before
the Circular remain extant. The amendments to the Circular will
be published following a period of public consultation.
Accordingly, the changes communicated in the 5 November SENS are
no longer applicable and the instruments as set out therein will
retain their classification prior to the Circular.
