RESIGNATION OF DIRECTOR                                                         
In accordance with paragraph 3.59 of the Listings Requirements of the JSE       
Limited, Sovereign shareholders are advised of the resignation of Mr Mike       
Hankinson, who for reasons of business conflict which would compromise his      
position as an independent non-executive director, has had to resign from       
Sovereign`s board of directors ("Board") effective 15 June 2010.                
The Chairman, Board and Chief Executive Officer would like to thank Mr Hankinson
for the substantial contribution he has made to the Company during his tenure on
the Board.
