APPOINTMENT OF UMGENI WATER BOARD - (2019-2023).

In compliance with the Listings Requirements of the JSE Limited, stakeholders are advised that today the 3rd of May,
the institution has received confirmation that the Honourable Gugile Nkwinti, MP, as Executive Authority responsible
for the Water and Sanitation portfolio, has finalized the appointment of the Board of Umgeni Water. This decision the
strict compliance with due process as dictated by Schedule 1 to the Water Services Act 108 of 1997, read with
section 35 of the Act. The appointment of Board Members of all Water Boards is a legislative prerogative of the
Minister of Water and Sanitation.

Stakeholders are advised that the Honourable Minister retained 3 of the outgoing members in order to ensure a
smooth transition as well as continuity from the wealth of knowledge and experience attained while serving Umgeni
Water. The new Board members will complement the vast knowledge and experience of those retained and
collectively their impressive track-record will contribute to successfully directing the future sustainability of Umgeni
Water. The wide range of expertise that the appointed Board members bring to the Board include engineering,
finance, legal, science, environment, management and ICT.

The Honourable Minister Gugile Nkwinti confirmed the appointment of the following Board Members for Umgeni
Water effective from 1 May 2019 till 30 April 2023:
